Terms & conditions of sale

1. Who you are contracting with

Great Brit Deals Ltd, trading as RefurbishedEngine.co.uk, registered in England & Wales, company no. 15385004, of Unit 7, Recresco Industrial Estate, Manor Way, Swanscombe, Kent DA10 0LL.

2. Quotations and orders

Prices quoted on this website are indicative starting prices, exclude VAT, and assume an exchange basis. A binding price is the one we give you in writing for your specific vehicle after we have confirmed the engine code or VIN. Quotations are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the vehicle details you give us. We will confirm the engine variant before dispatch, but where an order is placed on information later found to be wrong, the costs of putting it right may fall to you.

3. Exchange basis and core returns

Unless your invoice says otherwise, every engine is sold on an exchange basis. Your old engine (the core) must be returned to us within 14 days of delivery. The core must be the same type as the unit supplied, complete, and drained of oil and coolant. Where a core is not returned within 14 days, is incomplete, or is damaged beyond economic rebuild, we will invoice the applicable surcharge.

4. Delivery

Engines are delivered on a pallet to mainland UK addresses. Delivery dates are estimates and time is not of the essence. You must inspect the pallet on arrival and note any visible damage on the carrier's paperwork; claims for transit damage cannot be made once a clean receipt has been signed. Offshore, Highlands and Islands deliveries are quoted separately.

Risk in the engine passes to you on delivery. Title remains with us until we have received payment in full.

5. Fitting and recovery

Fitting is carried out at our workshop unless agreed otherwise in writing. Recovery is offered within approximately 60 miles of our workshop; distances beyond that are quoted individually. Fitting quotations assume the vehicle is otherwise serviceable. Additional work found necessary during fitting — including cooling system faults, turbochargers, injectors, clutches, flywheels and emissions components — will be reported to you and carried out only with your approval, at additional cost.

6. Payment

Payment terms and accepted payment methods are confirmed in writing with your quotation, before any order is placed. Trade accounts are available by agreement. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue sums under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where the sale is business-to-business.

7. Warranty

Engines are supplied with a 12-month warranty when fitted by us and a 6-month warranty when supplied only. The full terms, including exclusions and the conditions you must meet, are set out on our warranty page and form part of this contract.

8. Cancellation and returns

Where you are a consumer buying at a distance, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the engine under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The engine must be unfitted, unused and in the condition supplied; return carriage is at your cost, and we may reduce the refund to reflect any handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods. This right does not apply once an engine has been installed, nor to engines sourced or built to your specific order.

Business customers may cancel only with our written agreement, and a restocking charge may apply.

9. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability arising from a contract is limited to the price paid for the engine and services under it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of use, hire vehicle costs or loss of contracts. Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights of a consumer.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
